He is survived by his wife of 16 years Gail; son, Darin Murphy & wife Amber, daughter, Elizabeth Powell & husband Michael; brothers, Mitchell Murphy & wife Verdina, Patrick Murphy & wife Dianne; three grandchildren, Layla Powell, Kendall Powell, Ronan Murphy; As well as many other loved ones and a host of friends.
Michael was a faithful member of Sunflower Baptist Church; he loved his family and was a true friend. Spending a lifetime in the woods providing for his family by logging.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents James W. Murphy and Gloria Lyles Murphy.
A Celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11am on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Magnolia Cemetery in Segno, Texas, with Pastor Mitchell Murphy officiating.
