Our Enduring Legacy
Pace Funeral Home has a rich history rooted in service to the East Texas community, beginning with its founding in September 1936 by Perry Pace. Just a few years later, in October 1940, we proudly opened our funeral home on Abbey Street. This wasn't just any new building; it was one of the very first facilities in East Texas specifically designed and constructed as a funeral home. This innovative approach allowed Pace Funeral Home to introduce a new and significantly improved method of funeral service to Polk County.
Throughout the years, our commitment to excellence never wavered. We consistently added new equipment and refined our services, always striving to offer the very best to the families who entrusted us with their loved ones. During this period, our dedication to the community extended beyond funeral services, as Pace Funeral Home also operated as a full-time ambulance service, providing vital support in times of urgent need.
In 2002, Pace Funeral Home transitioned back into independent ownership, reaffirming our local roots and dedication. Recognizing the rapid and expansive growth of Livingston and Polk County, we understood the evolving needs of the community. To better serve these growing families, we embarked on a significant expansion, culminating in the construction of a modern, new facility in May 2004. This new funeral home was designed with the comfort and needs of grieving families at its forefront, allowing us to continue our legacy of compassionate and comprehensive care for generations to come.
