I served in the Army.
Terry G. Potthoff, was born on June 14, 1943, in Austin, Texas, to George E. Potthoff and Eveline McCorquodale Potthoff. He passed from this life on August 30, 2026, in Livingston, Texas, at the age of 83.

Terry graduated from Travis High School in 1961 in Austin and went on to attend Southwest Texas University. Following college, he proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Fort Devens in Massachusetts and served as a Morse Code Interceptor.

After serving his country, Terry went to work as an engineer with Southwestern Bell. In his free time, he enjoyed his many hobbies and passions including playing guitar, woodworking and playing golf.

Terry was as generous as he was creative. He built wheelchair ramps and cabinetry for Habitat for Humanity, donating his time and craftsmanship at no cost. He also made custom golf clubs, fishing rods and lures for family and friends.

One of his favorite pastimes was hunting, particularly deer hunting, and he treasured the time spent hunting alongside his father.

Over the years, Terry owned many boats and had a fun time teaching his daughters and other family members how to water-ski. The lake wasn't just for watersports, but also fishing, another of his many past times.

Terry cherished his family and friends and never met a stranger. He devoted himself to those in need and made himself available to everyone.

Terry met and married his beloved wife, Christine in 1983. They spent 43 amazing years together. Never had he been so happy and full of life. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, especially his beloved Shih Tzus, Skeeter and Tia.

Terry's generous spirit extended into his community as well, he volunteered his time and talents with the Masonic Anson Lodge, continuing his lifelong commitment to serving others and making a difference in the lives of those around him.

Left to cherish his memory is loving wife, Christine Potthoff; daughters, Lisa Potthoff and Shannon Potthoff and her husband, Paul Butt; sister, Rita Barr; niece, Allison Barr; nephew, Carson Barr and his wife Randi; and great niece and nephew, Elliott Rose and William

He is preceded in death by his father, George Potthoff, and his mother and stepfather, Eveline and Ernest Stanley.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, with a Celebration of Terry's Life beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Pace Funeral Home, 200 FM 350 N., Livingston, Texas. Pastor Lynn Sasser will officiate.
