Brett was born in Houston, Texas on October 15th, 1958 to Elmer and Laurene. Graduating from Southwest Texas State University, he worked in oil and gas and real estate before settling into a long career in healthcare in which he was passionate and made a positive impact on countless lives. He married his wife of over 40 years on June 30, 1984.
His wife and children remember him as a loving spouse, father, and grandfather who championed everyone?s accomplishments. He had advice or a story to share about any crossroad or challenge that his children came upon in life. He was incredibly proud of his family.
Brett was well-known throughout all the communities he lived in - he spent more than 30 years raising a family in Sugar Land, TX before moving to Livingston to live his dream life on the lake with his wife, Lisa. He served those around him in many capacities over the years and developed strong friendships with everyone he encountered. He will be missed by many and remembered with a smile.
A Memorial service is scheduled for November 2nd at 10:00am at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, TX.

Sugar Land, TX Friday, November 1, 2024 Brett (or Mr. Kunnemann, as I knew him for most of my life) was an absolute firecracker, no doubt about it. When Grant and I grew up doing Cub and Boy Scouts together, both Lisa and Brett were very active leaders. It's hard to express how much I appreciate them both for being guides in my young life. I know the Scouts (and other dads!) were always stoked to have Brett along on any camping trips - he knew his stuff, eagerly helped anyone who needed it, and everyone knew we were in for plenty of laughs. Thankful that my parents and the Kunnemanns have remained connected since Grant and I graduated high school. Sending my most heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Lisa, Travis, Sam, and Grant. Brett was one of a kind, and he will be sorely missed by many.Rick & Sojin King
Pleasantville, NY Friday, November 1, 2024 Dear Lisa, Grant, Sam & Travis,Just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you, and that we have been reflecting on what a great person Brett has been. He was a role model for standing up for what you believe in. He was a person that would go out of his way to help folks that are in need. He had a sense of humor that was a lot of fun. But most of all, he was a gentle, caring and loving person. We are truly so sorry for your loss, but all the good memories will live on. All our love, Rick & Sojin King

antioch, IL Thursday, October 31, 2024 Brett and I met back in 1992 at a company training session, he quickly extended his hand of friendship and helped a struggling kid quickly learn the ropes and acted as a great mentor to me. He was a dear friend and colleague of mine that I am truly missing! We spoke almost daily about work and life, family and friends. He always managed to not only keep me on my toes, motivate me when I was having a hard times but always ended by bringing a chuckle and a smile to my face. You will be missed buddy Rest In Peace!

Missouri City, TX Saturday, October 26, 2024 Lisa and "boy's, I was so sad to hear of Brett's passing. I will remember him with a smile for all the teasing and humor he bestowed on us. It's hard to watch in slow motion as your loved one prepares to leave, but knowing he's no longer in pain is a blessing. Fondly, SherrieElizabeth Bullard
Friday, October 18, 2024 Brett was bigger than life. He was definitely the life of the party. There were so many great conversations over the past 20 something years. And Brett always had an opinion! Brett was the type of man that you could always count on. He was there for the good times, but more importantly, he was always there for the not so good times. It was always so clear how important being a good husband and father was to Brett. Our families had so many great experiences together over the years---soccer, scouts, socializing. It’s hard to believe you’re gone Brett; you will be missed. Our deepest condolences to Lisa, Travis, Sam and Grant.Karman Cusack
Evergreen, CO Thursday, October 17, 2024 My prayers and sympathy go out to Lisa Travis Sam and Grant. Brett and I go way back to Oct 1986 when he came on board with the Healthcare company we were with. He obviously excelled while he was there and I was honored to be working with him. Our friendship grew over the years as we remained in touch throughout the time and our few fishing trips to lake fork were always adventurous. He would always outfish me using those damn pumpkin seed Crawworms while I would remain frustrated throwing my crankbaits. He had the patience of a saint as they say and would be able to slowly work those baits with great success. I couldnt stand fishing with those baits! He was a proud Texan and so proud of his family I was always in awe of the way he and Lisa raised those boys and how happy they all were with their growing family. As the years passed we enjoyed getting together once in a while either by phone or at a trade show. So many memories and stories his passing is a real loss not only for his family but for his friends and the Healthcare Industry as a whole. He was truely well respected by his colleagues and admired by all who were blessed to know him. God Bless the Kunnemann family and Thank you Brett for your friendship I will miss you.Peter M. Herzog
