Patsy Ruth Hughes, known to all as Pat, was born April 18, 1930 in Center, Texas a small farming community in East Texas. She was the daughter of Reese and Mary Lou Reynolds and the sister of Jerry Reynolds, all of whom preceded her in death.

In 1948, Pat married Raymond Odell Hughes and was married more than 60 years until Ray's death in 2010. Together, Pat and Ray had one son, Michael, born on February 20th, 1949.

After graduating from high school, Pat went on to business school after which she worked as a secretary at U.S. Rubber Corporation in Houston. After Ray retired from Ethyl Corporation, Pat and Ray moved to their retirement home on a lake in Livingston. They joined friends nearby and quickly made many new friends as members of the Methodist Church and the community.

Pat is survived by her beloved son, Michael, her daughter-in-law, Linda, and her two grandsons, Reese and Hunter, both born in 1995. Pat absolutely adored her grandsons!

Pat was always surrounded by friends who shared Pat's numerous interests and hobbies including arts and crafts, decorating, gardening, cooking, bell-ringing and community service. She loved living on a lake filled with ducks, hummingbirds, and watching the beauty of nature unfold throughout the years.

After moving into an assisted living facility, Pat died on Sunday, September 29th at the age of 94. Pat's ideal was to be well of body and sound of mind for most of her life, then a quick passing with dignity. Pat lived the ideal life. She will be long remembered for her sense of humor, her smile, her laughter and love of life that touched all who knew her. Patsy Ruth Hughes, for all you did in life and for all the wonderful memories, thank you!

A Celebration of Patsy's Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Reverend Joel McMahon officiating.

Even though it was only a year I had the opportunity to know you it seems like a life time. Enjoying life together going by Burger King n picking up our special jr burger n fries with no salt now I will get fries without salt n taste the fries instead of salt knowing I'm not suppose to have salt. Now you are with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ where no more pain or suffering continue singing with that heavenly choir ( Bless It Assurance Jesus Is Mind) Love you 🙏 ❤️.
