Eddie Ruth (Baker) Goertz was born on February 20, 1935 in Colita, Texas to Ed and Dessie (Glass) Baker. She passed from this life on March 16, 2023 in Livingston, Texas, at the age of 88.

Ruth was born on the family farm in Colita, Texas, where she helped work the family farm until she married Leo Goertz on October 26, 1959. After Samuel was born they moved into Livingston. This is where Greg was born. They moved to Oakdale a few years later. Ron was born while they were at Oakdale where they continued to micro farm. They moved back to Colita in the late 1970's where she and Leo continued to farm.

Ruth enjoyed gardening and preserving her garden vegetables, sewing, quilting, crocheting, oil painting and spending time with her family. She was known for having Friday Night Dinners each week for her kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who loved her.

She is survived by her Sons, Samuel Goertz and wife Gretchen, Greg Goertz and wife Susie and Ron Goertz and wife Karen. Grandchildren, James Goertz and wife Jasmin, Heidi Mathews and husband Andrew, Geoff Goertz and wife Emma, Grant Goertz and Brenda, Kayla Calvet and husband Travis. Great Grandchildren, Tristan and Anastasia Mathews and Kristen and Kole Calvet. Brother in-law and sister in-law, Emory and Marlene Goertz, sister in-law Betty Palazzo, sister in-law Caroline Dietz and husband Mark and Numerous Nephews and Nieces.

Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband Leo Goertz, her parents.
Brother, Jake Blackerby, Sisters Doris Walton and Cynthia Krieger.

Visitation will be Sunday Evening March 19, 2023 from 5 to 8 at Pace Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be on Monday March 20, 2023 at 10 AM, with Dickie Boddie officiating, also at Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, Tx. Interment will be held at Bold Spring Cemetery in Bold Spring, Texas.
