Joe graduated from Livingston High School and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army from 1959 1962, in France. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church, Shriners and Trinity AF & AM Masonic Lodge #14 in Livingston, Texas.
He retired from Weiner's Department Stores after 36 years where was Manager for numerous stores, and Regional Supervisor for all east Texas and western Louisiana.
Joe is survived by his son Trevor C. Baxley; sister, Mavis Baggett, many other family members, and a host of friends
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sherry Baxley; son, Timothy Baxley; parents, James and Millie Baxley Sr; brothers, James (Red) Baxley Jr, Melvin Baxley, Morris (Rip) Baxley, Robert Baxley, Connie Baxley, and David Baxley; sisters, Bonnie Baxley and Lorraine Martin.
A Masonic Graveside Service will begin at 10:00 am August 11, 2022, at Restland Memorial Park in Livingston, Texas with Trinity Masonic Lodge # 14 officiating along with Brent Stovall.
In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607, or samaritainspurse.org.
