He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ferguson Hardin; son, Elmer Hardin III & wife Vicky, daughters, Janice Christine Koenning & husband Kenneth, Angie Mayo & husband AL; granddaughter, Ashlee Mayo, Bambi Brown, Sara Vacha, Jennifer Hardin; grandsons, Justin Koenning, Jake Koenning, Michael Vacha, Bubba Vacha; four great grandchildren; as well as many other loved ones and a host of friends.
Lou loved his family dearly. He was a member of the Pine Forrest Baptist Church, A Veteran of the United States Army. After retiring from State Farm, he moved to the lake and his favorite hobby was running his trot lines. Always competing for the state record.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Evelyn, and sisters, Dorothy Ball, Mert Langston.

Hubbard, TX Monday, December 6, 2021 I have so many fond childhood memories of Uncle Bud when we would visit Mom and Pop in Hardin. We have gotten reacquainted over Facebook in the past few years. What fun that has been!Please accept my most sincere sympathy for your loss. I know he will be sorely missed.
