She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James M. Watson Jr.; her cherished son, Jesse G. Martinez Jr.; her parents, Eloy and Maria Liscano; her sisters, Esther DeLeon and Rachel Flores, and her niece Jenavi Saldana.
Her legacy of love lives on through her three daughters: Pamela Pena and husband Roman, Jessica Meza and husband Rudy, and Rosanna Luna and husband Bobby.
She was the extremely proud grandmother of six: Gabriel Meza, Angelica Hernandez (and husband Shaun), Julian Meza, Rebecca Pena, Rachel Pena, and Evelyn Luna. She was also blessed to be the great-grandmother of her sweet great-granddaughter, Grace Hernandez.
Rebecca is survived by her brother, Ray Liscano, and her sisters, Debra Liscano and Hope Lopez, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who were blessed to have known her.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort knowing she is resting peacefully, free of pain, and wrapped in the arms of her Redeemer.

HOUSTON, TX Monday, August 24, 2026 One description I have always had of my sister is that whatever she was thinking was coming out of her mouth…no filter. More often than not, it got her in trouble. I can still remember Mom saying, “No te callas, mijita.” (“You don’t know when to shut up, daughter.”)Other times, Mom would fondly remember that Becky was the one who would talk to people when Mom or Dad needed something. She would make the calls for them. I also remember hearing that either my grandfather or grandmother called her “perica”—parakeet—because she talked so much when she was little.
I know she loved us—her siblings. Before she started forgetting things, she would say she missed Esther so much. She would say she wanted to call her and tell her this or that.
My brother Ray—forget it. She loved him so much. Aside from Daddy, Ray was the only other person she might actually listen to.
When Patsy had her second stroke, even though Becky was already getting sick herself, she said she wished she could bring Patsy to Livingston so she could take care of her. She probably never told Debbie, but Becky admired her very much for how she was doing it on her own…raising Jenavi.
And me…my sister came through for me many times. I suppose we came through for each other.
After JR passed, things started to change, and my sister’s health became more evident. Was it hard for us? Yes. This is such a terrible disease that slowly takes hold in addition to her other health issues.
But my love for my sister never lessened. Forgiveness came more often than not. I had to remind myself that it was the disease.
Like it is for many of us, challenging times came to my sister. But in her last months, she was present, even if it was only for moments at a time. She had stopped being angry. She was peaceful.
And I believe that was when the Lord said, “You’re ready to come home now.” And so, my sister went home.
I will always remember the sister she was before the disease took so much from her—the sister who talked too much, who had no filter, who loved fiercely, who had lifelong friends, who was funny and laughed out loud, who loved to sing, who showed up for the people she loved, and who could always make her presence known.
That is the Becky I will carry with me.
And I will love you sister—always.
Hope
