Ector grew up in Smith and Polk County Texas. He worked in trucking and logging for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his greatest joy.
Ector was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaVerne Thompson, his parents Bill & Willie Mae Thompson, brothers JD Thompson and Robin Thompson and sister Lillian Funderburg. He is survived by his children, Lynn Blankenship of Tyler, James (Noelle) Thompson of Livingston and Cindy (Jim) Drake of Magnolia. He loved to have fun, wherever he went there were good times to be had. His favorite things in life were his family, bird hunting and dancing to good music.
Ector will be missed by many and remembered for his outgoing personality and his love for all that had a place in his heart.
