David McCarty passed away on May 7, 2024, after a battle with cancer surrounded by family. David was born in Houston, Texas, the son of Adolph and Aurora Tydlacka. As a young man he bred rabbits and competed in various rabbit shows and passed on that experience and knowledge to his daughter and other young people as a 4H leader and advisor. He joined the United States Navy in 1968 and was deployed during the Vietnam War, on the USS Ulysses S. Grant. He was honorably discharged in 1972 and returned to his family and civilian life. He worked for several years for US Steel until it closed and went to work for Chevron in 1988. He retired from Chevron Phillips after 25 years of service. He moved to Trinity, Texas with his wife Vickie. Lake Livingston was a perfect location as he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married Vickie McCarty on May 22, 2009, and they were together for 14 years, until his passing.
He was preceded in death by both his parents Adolph and Aurora Tydlacka.
He is survived by his loving family who will miss him dearly; wife, Vickie McCarty; children, Crystal Pafford & husband Danny, Chris Rutherford & wife Connie, Stephanie Thompson; sisters, Janet Balthrop & husband Steve, Jessie Roten, Mabel Warren; grandchildren, Trevor Smith, Ty Smith & wife Maggie, Brice Smith & fianc?e Rebecca Huttman, Madison Rutherford, C.J. Rutherford, Brooke Rutherford, Kayle Rutherford, Trey Rutherford & wife Shannon, Trent Rutherford & wife Alex, Corey Robbins & wife Skye; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn, Aaron, Makynna, Saylor, Kayce, Zoey, Raylee, Easton, Hazel, and Phoenix; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and an extended loving family.

    David was a wonderful boy love him a lot I hope he forgave me when I hit him with 41 ford pick-up at dads house he didn't get hurt he was about 4 year old then also a great man I'm sure he in a great place now
