Jose was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Catholic Church; he held his faith in God close to his heart. Jose was also a dedicated employee at Austin Bridge and Road Industries for 40 plus years. He has a fondness for the simple things in life like hunting, fishing, and most of all his family. Jose always said that his greatest weakness was his family and friends, but they were also his greatest strength. He always said kids may leave, but they always come back with more. Jose was a loving, kind soul; his family and friends will miss his jokester personality and his love, but take comfort in his memory.
He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Garcia; daughters, Elba Palma & husband Florencio, Catarina Williams & husband Rex, Eliamar Phelps & husband Ike, Elena Casey & partner Steve, Estela McPike & husband Danny; sons, Dionisio Garcia, Jose Garcia III & wife Sonja; 23 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; as well as many other family members friends and loved ones.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Josefina Harper, daughter-in-law, Catherine Garcia, brothers, and sisters.
A Visitation for Jose will be held from 5:00p- 8:00p, Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Pace Funeral Home, in Livingston, Texas, with a Rosary to begin at 6:30p.
A Funeral Mass for Jose will be held 2:00p, Friday, April 12, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Livingston, Texas, with Fr. Paul Kahan, SVD officiating.
Interment to follow at Bold Springs Cemetery, in Livingston, Texas.
