Richard Wesley Jenkins was born on November 17, 1946, to Melvin Wesley and Liddie Mae (Wilkerson) Jenkins, in Houston, Texas. He passed away from this life on February 7, 2024, in Livingston, Texas at the age of 77.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife Donna Jenkins; son, Shawn Jenkins; daughters, Michelle Casas & Michael Lewis, and Kim Placker & husband Jason; brother, Raymond Whitehurst; sisters, Mary Jane Briggs, Barbara Jones, and Eva Bradford; grandchildren, Jessica Mohammadian &husband Erfan, Morgan Ardoin & husband Michael, Coy Placker & wife Jaime, Madeline Smith, Jordan Smith & wife Kuuipookalani, Christian Jenkins, Hunter Placker & fiance Lexi, Allison Casas, Sara Jenkins and Megan Placker; six great- grandchildren; as well as many other loved ones, family, friends, and comrades.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Liddie Jenkins, and brothers, Wayne Whitehurst, and Roy Whitehurst.
A Celebration of Richards Life will be held at 10:00a, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, Texas, with Pastor Dickie Boddie and Brother Billy Placker officiating.

    Richard, thank you for being a great dad to me and grandpa to Madeline and Jordan. I’ll never be able to express how much you have meant to me. You raised me as your own son and taught me everything I know. You were loved by many and will be missed by everyone.
