I served in the armed forces.
Jessie Ray King was born November 23, 1932, in Douglass, Texas, to Hoyt and Eula (Emerson) King. He passed from this life on January 23, 2024, at his home in Livingston, Texas at the age of 91.
Jesse was a veteran of the United States Army, during the Korean War, as a Military Police Officer, and was stationed in Germany. After he was discharged from the U. S. Army, he graduated the Houston Police Department Police Academy in 1958; He served the Houston community for almost 30 years and retired as a Detective in 1992 before moving to the lake.
Jesse is Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patsy King; son, Kelly King; daughter, Toni King; brother David King & wife Kathy; sister, Gwen Barksdale; as well as many other family members and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt, and Eula King; and brother-in-law, William (Bill) Barksdale.
A Visitation for Jesse will be held from 5:00p- 8:00p, Friday, January 26, 2024, at Pace Funeral Home, in Livingston, Texas.
A Celebration of Jesse's life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Pace Funeral Home, in Livingston, Texas, with Pastor Sonny Hathaway officiating.
Honors to be presented by the Houston Police Department Honor Guard.
A Graveside for Jesse will be held at 3:30p, Saturday, January 26, 2024, at Douglass Cemetery, in Douglass, Texas.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the SPCA of Polk County, at 802 S Houston Ave, Livingston, Texas.
