I'm so sorry to the family for their loss! Ms.pharis was such a an amazing lady! I've lived next door to her for a very long time! Her and my grandparents got pretty close! She would always make me smile as we would go for walks and talk about everything! Always Seeing her walking all around the neighborhood. Hearing her stories about being a teacher. She was so sweet! Last Christmas she gave us some cute candy cane decorations and was always bringing over some extra pies. I will miss her smile! My family and I always loved helping her clean her roof. She never wanted any help with her lawn though. She sure did love her lawn! I hope your finding peace in this difficult time! she will be forever missed as she sits in the big church in heaven praising the Lord! 🫶

Starleen, or "Aunt Starleen" as I knew her, was a dear friend of my family. As a baby she watched me so my parents could take a teaching exam. She didn't know how to heat a baby bottle, but she was making chocolate chip cookies at the time. She would feed me cookie dough to keep me content. I think that is where my love for chocolate chip cookies started. She was a wonderful cook and baker, a wonderful friend, with the best collection of hats and cook books. Most importantly, she was a Christian and lived her faith. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)

Growing up I never had young kids in my neighborhood. I had older friends. Starleen was a great friend and mentor. Every trip she took she would mail me a postcard and bring me some souvenir back. I caould always count on a ride to church, because you could always count on her to be there when the doors opened. Even after I moved off and my grandmother got in bad health she was there to make sure my Grandmother got to church.

My best memories as a child was that Starleen loved Tom Selleck!! We could play, but when Magnum PI came on she would tell me I could either go home or sit, watch and NOT talk!! :) I would get the teacher stare if I talked!

She will always be remembered as the neighbor down the hill! The lady who could het away with wearing BIG hats in church. The lady with red lipstick!!

See you on the other side!
    Love,
    Kelly Oliver Dial

Starleen was a customer of mine at the Drug Store. She was a very pleasant person. I know she had to be a great teacher. We all loved to visit with her when she came in the store. As I recall she traveled a lot.
I thought about her 2 days ago and wondered how she was getting along.

Bless her and her family and friends.

    Regards

Starleen was a great friend and neighbor for MANY years and will be missed. We had so much fun visiting and baking (especially bread) together. Till we meet again, my friend.

Our prayers and thoughts are with her sister, family and friends. She was a very dear friend of mine for close to 50 years. I learned so much from her. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend.
