JW volunteered with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He spent his days classic rock listenin', long cut dippin', Longhorn football watchin', and a whole lot of front porch sittin'. He loved being outdoors.
He is survived by his former wife, Sandra Foss; son, Kyle Blackerby and wife Britany Blackerby; Keri Blackerby, Katy Petroschka and husband Wolfgang, Katrena Martin and husband Vernon, KaSandra Elvir and husband Manuel; brother, Douglas Blackerby and wife Lisa; sister, Jane White and husband Bill; grandchildren, Sabrina, Addison and Kylie Blackerby, Christian Berotte, Ryan, Matthias and Leilani Petroschka, Sam, Nala, Eli and Jack Martin, Jeremy Elizondo, Isabella and Evangelina Elvir; as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.
JW is preceded in death by his father, Jake; mother, Pearlee; sisters, Jennifer Greene, Johnnie Blackerby; granddaughter, Brooke Blackerby.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 10am-12pm at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A Celebration of JW's Life will begin at 12pm, Saturday, October 21, 2023, with Pastor Mike Hood officiating.
Interment to follow at Boldsprings Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
