He is survived by his wife, Sue A. Rees; son, Ronald Anderson; daughter, Laura Shepherd; brother, Dana Rees; as well as many loved ones and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Lewellyn and Elsa Rees; maternal grandparents, Harry, and Della Fulsom.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was a Sir Knight 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus. He also sat on the Finance Committee for the Church. During life, he was a cowboy, rancher and an elementary school principal. Upon retiring he continued his cowboy cooking skills by providing barbecue through our business, S Bench Cattle BBQ, to our local businesses and our friends. Michael is going to be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his community.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 5-8pm at Pace Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 6pm. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be the Knight of Columbus. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW post 8568. A private interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
