Bill was a veteran the United States Army, having served in WWII and was a pipe fitter for the local Union 211 for 40 years. He was a member of the Sunflower Baptist Church. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by wife, Donna Burns; son, Billy Wayne Burns & wife Lee; daughter, Avey Douglas; grandchildren, Vincent Douglas, Wendy Douglas, Gregory Burns, and Allison Cardarette & husband Jay; Seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Mary Burns; former wife, Wilda Mae Burns; brothers, James (Pee Wee) Burns, and Frank Denman Burns; and sisters, Ada Bernice Burns and Polly Hall.
Visitation will be held at 1:00pm with a Celebration of Bill's Life to begin at 2:00pm Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Pace Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mitchell Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Ruby Cemetery, Livingston, Texas, with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 8568.

Venus, TX Friday, March 18, 2022 Mr. Burns is celebrating in heaven now with the other angels. I know you will all miss him. Know he is happy, healthy, and in no pain walking the golden streets of heaven. Love and hugs to you all 💕💕💕
