Thomas (Tom) Alan Root was born February 4, 1951, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Donald Root and Ruth Shirley (Rosecrantz) Root. He died on February 3, 2022, in Livingston, Texas at the age of 70.
Tom was survived by his loving wife, Barbara Root; son, Joseph Sekel & wife Stephanie; daughter, Renee Beck; brother, Donald Root & wife Linda; sister, Sharon Rocker & husband William; grandchildren Chase & fiancé Haily, Lexi & husband Teddy, Riley, Brayden, Tristyn, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends and his beloved dogs Harley and Cooper.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruth Shirley Root.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, as a fighter pilot and later retired as Captain from Continental/United Airlines.
A Celebration of Thomas' life will begin 2 p.m. February 9, 2022, at Pace Funeral Home with Chaplain Cameron Veazey officiating.
