Stephen Eugene Johnson


Stephen Eugene Johnson was born on June 25, 1951, in Whittier, California. He passed away in Lufkin, Texas on June 26, 2021. Steve graduated from W. C. Overfelt High School in San Jose, California. Recently he and his wife Rosalia Carapia resided in Goodrich, Texas.

Steve was actively involved with Saint Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He excelled as a wood working artisan and enjoyed aquaponics, fishing, and had a soft spot for stray animals, often adopting them and nurturing them back to health.

Steve is survived by his wife, Rosalia Carapia; his children Steve Johnson Jr., Erica Johnson, Patric Johnson, & stepdaughter, Pamela Hernandez; his mother, Betty McCarthy; his siblings Deborah Hughes, Karen Mitchell, Keith Carey, & David Carey.
