Luther "Marty" Martin Jones
March 10, 1944 - December 28, 2022

Luther Martin "Marty" Jones was born on March 10, 1944, in Bainbridge, Georgia to Major and Winnie (Williams) Jones and passed away December 28, 2022, in Spurger, Texas at the age of 78

He moved from Bainbridge to Houston at the age of 20 with his brother for work.
Marty was an iron worker/welder for 45 years. His hobbies were hunting whitetail deer in the Texas Hill Country and East Texas. Marty also enjoyed fishing for white bass and catfish in the Trinity River.

He was a member of the Gateway Church, a firm believer in the Bible & strong in his Christian faith. He served as a spiritual mentor to friends and family.

Marty is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Jones; daughters, Lisa Quinet and husband James, Kimberli Welsh and husband Curtis; sister Christine Williams and husband Jim; grandchildren, Conner Jaco, Hannah Welsh, Mason Welsh, Casey Welsh Zachary Quinet, Ethan Quinet; great grandchildren, Drake Jaco, Ellie Jaco, Canyon Welsh, Emberlynn Welsh; as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.

He is preceded by his parent; brothers, McCoy Jones, Sunny Jones; sister Louise Aplin.

Marty was a family man and loved to spend time with friends, his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

A Celebration of Marty's Life will be held At Gateway Church, 2930 Rayford Rd, Spring, Texas with Brother Rick Fowlkes officiating.
